Sarah took her very first yoga class in 2005 with her mother in the small town she lived in at the time. The physical practice came naturally as she had grown up primarily a dancer; the movements seemed organic. Her practice was very on & off as there wasn’t a studio at the time in town, and It was not until Sarah enrolled in an Ashtanga Yoga course during post-secondary where she realized the point of yoga Was much more than just the pose. Throughout the semester as the stressors built, yoga was the one part of her day where Sarah felt safe to let go of everything going on around her and could cultivate awareness within not only her physical body – but also mentally as well. Connecting the body with the breath allowed Sarah to shift her perception from an ever-changing, sometimes uncontrollable external environment to really begin to connect internally – consciously creating space as well as making mindful, intelligent movements & decisions. From that moment on, Sarah's practice was forever changed.

Sarah went on to graduate from the U of A, and After completing her RYT 500, Sarah's practice is now all encompassing and dedicated to aligning her intentions through her actions – both on and off the mat. Yoga is the relationship that is built between the mind, the body, & the breath. Yoga is creating a space which is free from obstacles in your own body to live. By cultivating this awareness & creating consciousness we become present within our bodies and within ourselves. When we become aware of this state within, our whole life is transformed. This awareness of infinite consciousness is the practical and real goal of yoga.
